The Kilkennys
Mad Dogs McRee
Jiggery folkery, hokery pokery............ Mad Dog Mcrea blend a unique mixture of folk rock, pop, gypsy jazz, bluegrass and 'shake your ass' music into their ever bubbling cauldron of kaleidoscopic orchestrations.
From self penned songs of adventure, drinking, love and life to traditional anecdotes referring to gypsies, fairies, legless pirates, black flies and wise old jungle bears the band bring you on an engaging yet sometimes obscure lyrical journey !
With a fresh six piece line-up consisting of guitar/vocals(Michael Mathieson), whistles(Dan Crimp), mandolin/banjo(Graham Anderson), double bass (Damion Scarr) and drums/percussion(Pete Chart) 2011 see the band embark on yet another epic road trip on their ‘Happy Bus’ to deliver some infectious entertainment around the country.
Following the success of their self penned studio album ‘Sophisticated Hat Manoeuvres’ the band will be releasing an original studio album early in the spring of 2011. The album will be released on their own label 'God Dam Records'.
